1) The Red Carpet Dinner; a great evening is reflected in some very good pictures taken by Stephanie, To view them and order your copies go to our website
(www.manorplayers.org) and click on Gallery
2)Sadly we were too optimistic on potential casting , so have replaced "SATURDAY, SUNDAY, MONDAY" with a touching, gentle play:-
"84 CHARING CROSS ROAD"
Adapted by James Roose Evans from the book by Helene Hanff and directed by David Hight
The play is set in a London bookshop, which still exists, and the New York apartment of Helen Hanff, an American writer, and tells the true story of the correspondence that developed between her and
Frank Doel ,the bookshop manager. It begins in 1949 ,whilst Britain was still experiencing rationing and continues over 20 years.
Helen Hanff- middle aged spinster author
Frank Doel - Middle aged shop manager
Mr. Martin - elderly, (dies at end of Act One, without speaking!!)
Megan Wells - Frank's secretary .
Bill Humphries - the cataloguer .
Cecily Farr - young mother of two.
Maxine Stuart - elegant actress friend of Helen's.
Joan Todd - one speech at end play.
The Casting Meeting/Reading will be held on Thursday 12 th December
Because of this delay we will not be meeting this coming week or the following Tuesday. So next MP evening is on Thursday 12th December
